<![CDATA[Affiliate Marketing]]>Sun, 18 Jul 2021 15:38:48 GMThttp://massacremusicgroup.com/blog/affiliate-marketing
Here's an idea for you guys. I'm just trying it out now so I'm not saying you will make bank, or even any commissions I'm not even saying that this is the right idea for every artist. It seems like it could be a good idea for some of us. It's called Affiliate Marketing and I realized you can partner up with many of the brands you already use. I don't think you should partner up with every brand and hock everything under the sun. You can be selective and still be genuine, while using a new revenue stream to add to your profits. I was looking for new revenue streams as well as new ways to increase visibility as an artist. I decided iLLa Blog was the move to increase visibility and connect with my peers on a personal level. One of the goals of my blog was to give artists different resources and ideas. I figured if some of these brands I could partner up with are bringing something to the table or relevant to the topic I'm posting about,
shouldn't I get a piece if I'm driving their sales.

Damn right I should!!!! But we'll see I'm just trying it out now. I'll see what happens, hopefully I gain a new revenue stream that can help drive profits so I can create the projects that MASSacre Music Group releases.
I'm no expert in this and I'm definitely trying to learn more so feel free to give us all some insight in the comments. I'm just trying to give you all some new ideas. Always think outside of the box, the more you got coming in the more you can do whatever you want with the projects you're putting out

I recently signed up for a service called share a sale and I just wanted to share the idea with all of you. It seems like there are a bunch of services out there so do your due diligence. I'll provide any updates if I think they are useful! More info below!

....maybe I'm just a sell out though!

What Is Affiliate Marketing? Affiliate marketing is the process by which an affiliate earns a commission for marketing another person’s or company’s products. The affiliate simply searches for a product they enjoy, then promotes that product and earns a piece of the profit from each sale they make. The sales are tracked via affiliate links from one website to another.

Affiliate marketing is a popular tactic to drive sales and generate significant online revenue. Extremely beneficial to both brands and affiliate marketers, the new push towards less traditional marketing tactics has paid off.

<![CDATA[Happy Birthday Reggie Ossé]]>Thu, 08 Jul 2021 23:20:14 GMThttp://massacremusicgroup.com/blog/happy-birthday-reggie-osse
Today is the birthday of the legendary Reginald Joseph "ReggieOssé (July 8, 1964 – December 20, 2017), known professionally as Combat Jack. He was an Haitian-American hip-hop music attorney, executive, journalist, editor, and podcaster. Combat Jack was the former managing editor of The Source, the host of the podcast The Combat Jack Show, and founding partner of the Loud Speakers Podcast network. He was also the host of the Complex TV show version of the Combat Jack Show podcast.

If you aren't familiar with the groundbreaking podcast give it a listen here.
https://soundcloud.com/thecombatjackshow/tracks

I wanted to share a story of my experience with the man.

It was right around the time the Combat Jack show was going on tour. Probably 6-ish years ago. I had found out one way or another that they did not have a Boston date booked. So I jumped at the opportunity and tried to contribute as match maker, as well as be a part of planning and promotion for the show. This is around the time Lisa Finelli was starting Xperience Creative and throwing shows at the Hard Rock in Boston. I saw that as a possible venue choice and Xperience Creative as the possible promoter and facilitator. I ended up reaching out to Miss Finelli who was all ears and nothing but accommodating. She told me to find out more and showed a little interest. So I played it as she was all in!!

I reached out to Mr.
Ossé (via email) to let him know we had some interest and that we wanted to discuss some ideas. A couple emails back and forth and then the final email "I'm In!" from the legend himself. That was obviously contingent on all the details working out but it was a dope email to get. He said he wanted to get on a call and chop it up.

Needless to say Mr. Reggie Ossé gave me a call, this man did not know me from a hole in the wall. I was obviously not a known name nor had I promised him anything, but he gave me the benefit of the doubt. We chopped it up for at least two hours and kicked around ideas. I had a few things tentatively lined up for the live show portion. We had a back and forth about the guest and he wasn't giving in. I wanted Edo G he loved the idea but nah the first Boston guest had to be Benzino. We agreed to disagree and obviously him and his team would get the final call, but overall it was good meeting and a great talk.

He was genuine, down to earth, thought provoking, and hilarious. Even though it was a business opportunity for him it was dope he took time out of his day. I ended up talking with his partners as well via email chain and it ended up they had already made deal. So it ended up not working out, but I guess it wasn't in the cards.

It wasn't that deep of a meeting, no crazy story. It really just showed the quality of his character and his love for the culture. I figured its something I should share in celebration of his life.

To carry on his legacy, listen to his show, support a business he was part of (Loudspeakers Network), and show support for his son Chi Oss
é (@osse2021 on twitter).

Now go listen to some Combat Jack!!

<![CDATA[Mixing Tips from CLA]]>Wed, 07 Jul 2021 16:45:18 GMThttp://massacremusicgroup.com/blog/mixing-tips-from-claHere are some mixing "secrets" via Waves Audio from Chris Lord-Alge. Although these may not be secrets to some this may really help your mix or help you make adjustments to the way you already do it. Although he may not be a household name to all of usChris Lord-Alge’s credit list containing an astonishing 1100 entries, with huge names such as Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Avril Lavigne, Cher, Muse, Celine Dion, Michael Bublé, Aerosmith, Madonna, Green Day, Meat Loaf, U2, Snow Patrol, Sheryl Crow, Savage Garden, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, Black Eyed Peas, The Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, James Brown, Eric Clapton, Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance and many more. I would say most of those are household names. His resume as well as his Grammy awards definitely speak form their selves. It's not CLA's first rodeo when it comes to mixing, I think we could all take something from this video no matter what your level of skill is. I know its made my mixes better.

Feel free to post any of your mixing tricks or tutorials that have helped you below in the comment section

This is iLLa Truth co-founder of MASSacre Music Group. I guess I'm starting a blog. This has been in the works or at least an idea for sometime now. So here we go I guess, This needed to be done. I don't know what this will turn into. I will try to be consistent and offer you all new content on a regular basis. There will be new ideas and content that we sprinkle in throughout this blogs growth. Maybe I'll even come up with a catchy name.

The mission of this blog is to share resources and ideas I've come up with throughout the years. I'd also like to share music and art from MASSacre as well as from friends, affiliates and strangers. This blog is to be informative but to share art and ideas that I come across. I'm not a wordsmith or author so bear with me, I wont have you hanging on my every word but hopefully the content and resources I post you find to be engaging and/or informative.

I would like to mention that some of the content specifically the resources may be from partners of MASSacre. We are delving into the world of affiliate marketing to find new revenue streams. We can assure you that anything on this blog will be posted because I like it or we find it may be valuable to our audience. All we are trying to do is find new ways to gain income to help facilitate the release of new music. (Specifically carrying on the legacy of my late brother an co-founder JAZZSCAPEZ)
I just don't want yall to think we are doing some shady shit
I'm not sure if I'm legally required to disclose this but It seemed like the right thing to do.

so enjoy, keep your eyes on the page and feel free to engage with us.... Lets see where this goes!

Peace, Love yall.
